About the Project
OMEGA TRUST S.R.L., as Beneficiary, has been implementing since April 15, 2020, the project entitled:
“Transition to innovation-driven development of OMEGA TRUST S.R.L. through the development of an innovative ICT application aimed at ensuring protection against cyber threats targeting critical industrial infrastructures”,
MySMIS Code 2014+ 129606.
The project is co-financed through the Competitiveness Operational Program, Priority Axis 2: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for a competitive digital economy, Investment Priority 2b, Action 2.2.1 – Supporting the increase of added value generated by the ICT sector and innovation through cluster development, Call no. 2.
General Objective
The main objective of the project is to transition from an outsourcing-based model to an innovation-driven development model by creating an advanced ICT application designed to detect intrusions and cyberattack attempts targeting critical industrial systems (ICS).
This is achieved through industrial research, experimental development activities, and innovation support services, integrating state-of-the-art machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms across the following priority scientific domains:
- Communication technologies, systems, and infrastructures
- Security and accessibility of information systems
- Security systems and infrastructures
- Computer science and automation systems
- Electronics and telecommunications
- Information society technologies
Project Scope and Impact
Through this project, OMEGA TRUST aims to develop an innovative ICT application capable of detecting security intrusions within ICS infrastructures and enabling intelligent response to cyber threats across key industries, including:
- Healthcare
- Manufacturing and retail
- Food industry
- Oil and gas
- Energy and utilities
- Transport and automotive
The project contributes to aligning economic operators providing essential services with the requirements of the NIS Directive (Directive on security of network and information systems), transposed into national legislation through Law no. 362/2018.

Project Objectives
Main Objective
Development of an innovative Intrusion Detection System (IDS) designed to protect critical industrial infrastructures against cyber threats.
Specific Objectives
SO1: Transition to a research–development–innovation (RDI) model through the development of an innovative cybersecurity application for ICS environments.
SO2: Increase the technological capacity of OMEGA TRUST through investments in ICT infrastructure, software, and R&D consultancy services supporting the development of the application.
SO3: Enhance the company’s innovation capacity.
SO4: Ensure effective project implementation through project management, dissemination activities, and project audit.
